For Parents
Brotherhood Interest
We realize that your son's interest in our Christian Brotherhood is probably met with many questions, as it should. Our parents also had questions and hesitated initially, but came to realize the focus of our ministry and mission. Many brothers would say that their involvement with the brotherhood has defined their time in college. Your son's decision as to which extracurricular involvements to take part in during college is very serious business. We will work to ensure that your son will not be bogged down by his involvement with the brotherhood, but will gain a newfound ability to value his time as precious. That way he won't seek to spend hours on facebook photos, watching tv, or playing video games for the sake of fulfilling boredom, but he will seek God's vision for his life, his days in college, and his days to come. Be on fire for Jesus Christ, passionately discerning God's will for his life. When that happens, the motivation to excel in the classroom and in life for the Glory of God will be fully realized. We also aim to include our fathers more in our discipleship efforts.
The Quest - Monthly News Letter
We seek to keep our parents and alumni up-to-date with brotherhood happenings through a monthly e-mail newsletter dubbed The Quest. Be on the lookout for the first edition to be sent out and posted on the website in mid-September.
Family Weekend and Dad's Day
We also hold a Parents Weekend and Dad's Day each Fall and Spring. This weekend provides parents an occasion to come up for a football game. We meet at the Kappa Chi House which houses twelve brothers in the brotherhood. The house's large deck offers a great place for fellowship as Brothers, Families, and Alumni partake in a brotherhood-sponsored BBQ. This gives families a perfect opportunity to meet brotherhood leadership, brothers, other families, and alumni, as well as an opportunity to hear about the ministry and to tour the House and see how ten brothers bonded by the blood of Christ can live together in peace and harmony.
